Thanks & Happy New Year
Posted on December 31, 2009
2009 has been a busy year for McBeth Photography and we would like to thank all the people who have helped us grow. Special thanks goes to all the lovely couples who chose us to capture their weddings. It was most definitely my pleasure.
My favourite shot of 2009 isn’t from a wedding; it isn’t even a photograph I was paid to take. It’s this one.

It’s a photograph of the moment my life changed forever, my little darling Esme at about 5 minutes old. So special thanks must also go to my beautiful wife Jess for giving me a daughter and who without her hard work and amazing organisational skills McBeth Photography would not exist.
Happy New Year everyone xxx.

Halloween
Posted on November 3, 2009
Been a busy couple of weeks in terms of client meetings and bookings. Next years wedding season is quickly filling up and we have taken a couple of bookings for 2012 would you believe.
On top of that we have anounced that we three are going to be four with the news that Jess is expecting again. Which explains why I was unwilling to take bookings for the middle two weeks of May (sorry to those who contacted us for those dates). On top of that we are in the process of selling our house and looking for another one.
Did have time for a little bit of family photography though as Esme experienced her first Halloween. She clearly had no clue what was happening but was quite happy to sit around dressed as a pumpkin for a while.

Sunday
Posted on October 20, 2009
Sunday was a busy day with a bridal meeting and a family lifestyle shoot all before lunchtime. Happy to say both went well, Abeda, the lovely bride booked us for her wedding next year and I had a great time in the morning shooting the Baillies in the shadow of the Forth Bridge.
Luke and little brother Sam proved to be excellent models, even if they were more interested in treasure hunting. Sam took a wee tumble and ended up with a bit of a bump on the head but nothing that a cuddle from dad and a spot of photoshopping by me couldn’t sort out.

Had a fun shoot today with cute baby twins and their lovely big sister. Again I managed to end up at a swing park. Here are few shots with more to follow.

Happy People

One of the best things about being a lifestyle photographer is that you are mostly with people who are having a good time. Whether it be a wedding, birthday party, reunion or just a family portrait session, the folk involved are usually there because they want to be and are happy.
Today for example I covered a big family party in the evening with a very happy granny having all her kids and grand-kids around her.
In the afternoon I had the pleasure of spending a short while in the company of an adorable little lady and her parents for a quick kiddy shoot. What made it even better was that I got to play on the jungle gym. The little lady in question was Samara, and what an absolute cutie she is.

Lifestyle shoot at Roslyn Glen

It’s days like today which make me really glad to be a photographer. The weather over the last few days has been pretty poor to say the least but today the clouds broke and the sun shone for my shoot with little Rebecca. This lovely wee lady had a great time playing in the wildflowers while I kept having to think of new way to keep a four year old’s interest in having her photo taken. She told me about cornflowers and I told her about poppies. What made it extra special was my wife Jess and little Esme tagged along and together with Rebecca and her mum Clare we enjoyed a lovely picnic prior to the shoot. Great day seems to have been had by all. Plus, we managed to get some lovely shots of little Rebecca.
